Nantahala National Forest 153 Mile Circuit Backpack

When:

Wednesday, May 13, 2009
through Monday, May 25, 2009

Details:

Using six different trails, we will start and return to the same place in 10-11 days. There are four ascents and four descents of between 2500-3500 feet. Other than some 60 miles on the Appalachian Trail, we will be on primitive trails that are rougher, lesser used but beautiful. Unlike the AT, it is entirely possible that we will not encounter other hikers on them.

This trip is somewhat hard in that we must be able to endure the distance, have enough equipment and food and still have our packs weighing about 35 pounds or less. The terrain is steep and rugged in places but for the most part, not all that difficult. This trip is rated strenuous.

Limit of four (two places already taken), physical fitness and equipment questionnaire to be filled out and returned with a $50 refundable deposit. For more information contact the leader at the address below.
