Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are essential to the Sierra Club. Our goal is to provide any member who wants to help out the opportunity to do so.  Volunteering is a great way to learn about our issues and have fun with other active Sierra Club members. There are opportunitites for one-time and ongoing commitments. If you are interested in any of these opportunities or want to know about other volunteer possibilities, please contact one of our group co-chairs.

Currently needed

Publicity – Help provide information about events and activities to media outlets. This is a great opportunity for someone who doesn’t have the time to go to meetings.

Sierra Watch – Members needed to attend various city and county public meetings to act as the Sierra Club’s eyes and ears on environmental issues.  If interested, we’ll connect you to the meetings that meet your interest and concerns.

Outreach Coordinator – Coordinate logistics and organize volunteers to cover booth shifts at events such as Hog Day, Festifall, and others.

Political Committee – Individuals interested in serving on the Political Committee, which makes endorsement recommendations, should contact our Political Chair.

Hospitality Chair – All of us enjoy having refreshments when attending a Sierra Club event. We are looking for someone to bring beverages and cookies to our monthly meetings. Reimbursement for expenses is provided. Contact one of our group co-chairs.

Conservation committee members – This is the perfect place for people that are passionate about local environmental issues. See our meetings page for more information.

Membership and Hospitality committee members – Like to attend festivals and events? Recruit new members? Raise money? If you enjoy any or all of these things, you might enjoy participating in our membership committee.
